What powers are available on this telescope. I had a telescope years ago and the powers were 60 to 180. Levenhuk Customer Service:
Dear Allen, thank you for interest in Levenhuk products! The maximum useful magnification is 260x. You can reach different magnifications with the help of different accessories. In order to calculate the magnification you need to divide the telescope's focal length by eyepiece's focal length. Without Barlow lens you will reach: 1) 25mm eyepiece - (900/25) = 36x; 2) 10mm eyepiece - (900/10) = 90x. With a 2x Barlow lens that comes in a kit, the telescope's focal length will be 900X2 = 1800. Magnification with the 25 mm eyepiece will be (1800/25) = 72x, with the 10mm eyepiece (1800/10) = 180x. In order to reach the maximum useful magnification of 260x, you will need to buy a 3-4 mm eyepiece. Is there any additional information you might need?
Hello! What telescope could your advise for an advanced user? (up to $300). Levenhuk Customer Service:
This instrument (Levenhuk Skyline 130x900 EQ Telescope) meets your requirements.
Nothing else needed. Thank you for the comprehensive answer and for the telescopes you recommended. I will look into them.
I am a beginner, but with a passionate interest. Please tell me what telescope would be required to see the Apollo Landing sites on the moon. Forgive me for the very basic question. Levenhuk Customer Service:
Dear James, thank you for interest in Levenhuk products! The lunar landers are too small to be seen with a back yard telescope. It took NASA's LRO to properly image them. For detailed planetary and lunar observations, we'd recommend to consider buying a refractor or catadioptric telescope. Please look at our Levenhuk Strike 1000 PRO Telescope (prododuct ID 65577). With such a powerful telescope you will be able to observe: binary stars with angular separation of over 1", faint stars (up to 13 stellar magnitude); details of lunar highlands and craters (3-4 km in diameter); spots in the atmosphere of Venus may be seen with a blue filter; numerous details on the surface of Mars during oppositions; features in the atmospheric bands of Jupiter; atmospheric bands on Saturn; plethora of faint asteroids and comets; hundreds of clusters, nebulae and galaxies; spiral features of the brightest galaxies (M33, M51); a large number of objects from NGC (features may be observed on most objects). Is there any additional information you might need?
Bought this telescope two year ago in this store. Could you please tell me how to disassemble the main mirror? I need to clean it... No info on this in the manual. Thank you in advance! Levenhuk Customer Service:
Such manipulations with the instrument should only be performed by professionals. Don't disassemble the telescope on your own.
How often should I align this telescope? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Alignment procedure should be repeated each time you move the instrument from place to place.
which telescope is better: Levenhuk Strike 950 PRO or Levenhuk Skyline 130x900 EQ? and why? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Levenhuk Skyline 130x900 EQ and Levenhuk Strike 950 PRO telescopes have different optical design - there's no point in comparing these two completely different telescopes. The choice depends on your target objects of observation and sky conditions.
I want to replace the finderscope with a right angle correct image one. Any suggestions. Levenhuk Customer Service:
Dear Chuck, thank you for your inquiry. I regret to inform you that our finderscopes are currently out of stock. If you want to get a direct image, you need to search for erecting prism for Newtonian telescopes. This is a standard erecting eyepiece which can be found on the internet, all you need is to make sure you get the eyepiece with 1.25'' barrel diameter. Is there any additional information you might need?

The temperature range is -40 to 104 F so you can use Levenhuk Skyline 130x900 EQ in winter without worries.
I got the Skyline for Christmas. I can't see a thing. How is this scope collimated? Will a collimated laser work with this scope? If not then how do you collimate this scope? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Dear Carl, thank you for your inquiry. You can find the detailed instructions in the manual, which you can find here online: http://www.levenhuk.com/products/materials/0/levenhuk_Skyline_EQ_eng_web.pdf Please let us know if you need further assistance.
Hello, Levenhuk!;) Tell me please... can I use this telescope for observing distant terrestrial objects? Thanks! Levenhuk Customer Service:
To get a 'terrestrial' image you need an erecting eyepiece. This accessory, unfortunately, is not available in our store at the time.
Hi! I've bought this one recently. It's a great telescope! Only I can't figure out how to assemble. Yes, I've read the manual. Please help: 1) how do I insert both eyepieces? One of them goes into the tube and where does the other one go? 2) how to increase magnification? I scroll these wheels but it only makes the image clearer. Please please help! ;) Levenhuk Customer Service:
Thank you for your feedback on the Levenhuk Skyline 130x900 EQ model! There are 2 eyepieces included in the kit: with the focal lengths of 10 mm (providing 90x magnification) and 25 mm (providing 36x magnification) respectively. These eyepieces should be used separately which means that telescope magnification changes by changing eyepieces. There is also Barlow lens included in the kit that allows you to increase the magnification up to 180x! It is supposed to be used together with one of eyepieces.
Hello. Is it very hard to maintain a reflecting telescope and how's its performance in the city? I am going to observe in the city (hence all the troubles with urban illumination) or in the countryside (meaning I need telescope to be easily transportable). Maybe it's better to buy a refractor? Cheers :) Levenhuk Customer Service:
Reflector is unable to demonstrate all of its capabilities in the city, because it is indeed very sensitive to illumination, but out of the city (18 miles and further), it will show much more than refractor. The most difficult thing about reflectors is main mirror alignment (adjustment), which needs to be done from time to time. But once you learn doing it, it won't be a problem anymore. For observing both in the city and in the suburbs and also to get better transportability we recommend you to chose catadioptric telescope, for example http://www.levenhuk.com/products/levenhuk-skyline-pro-105mac/. More catadioptric telescopes may be found here: http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes-design-catadioptric-items/
My gf gave me this for Christmas!!! It's unbelievably cool! I have tons of questions! 1) is there any easy-to-understand instructions on how to observe? 2) which eyepieces I need to observe solar system planets properly? because I don't have a clue on how to observe deep sky! I'm not even sure it's possible in NY, you know with all urban air pollution thing... Levenhuk Customer Service:
1. Consider reading ""See it all!"" Astronomer's Handbook http://www.levenhuk.com/products/levenhuk-book-see-it-all/ 2. We recommend you these accessories: Levenhuk Plossl 7.5 mm Eyepiece http://www.levenhuk.com/products/ocular-levenhuk-p75/ and Levenhuk 2x Barlow Lens http://www.levenhuk.com/products/acc_levenhuk_barlow_lens_2x/ 3. Don't worry it's possible to observe deep sky objects everywhere, even in New York
Does it have built-in corrector that increases focal length? Levenhuk Customer Service:
There are no built-in correctors in the construction of Levenhuk Skyline 130x900 EQ telescope.
Please suggest beginner's telescope up to $300. I want a reflector as good as possible for the price. Levenhuk Customer Service:
Levenhuk Skyline 130x900 EQ is the optimal choice for an amateur astronomer. Also consider Levenhuk Ra 200N Dobsonian reflector http://www.levenhuk.com/products/dob-levenhuk-ra-200n/. It's slightly more expensive, but it has bigger mirror of higher quality, dual-speed Crayford focuser and provides more possibilities.
So you mean image quality is ok when observing solar system planets? Or do I need less powerful telescope for that... I just can't get it and am overall puzzled... I thought that if telescope is very powerful then it's multipurpose and can do almost everything... Am I wrong? Is it better to use different telescopes in different situations? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Levenhuk Skyline 130x900 EQ telescope is more appropriate for deep-sky observations, but it will show you the planets, image quality will be like you observe through 90 mm refractor. The Moon is exception, you will be able to observe it fragmentally.
isn't it possible to shoot pictures with regular DSLR like canon? Levenhuk Customer Service:
To connect SLR camera to Levenhuk Skyline 130x900 EQ telescope you need a T-ring. Unfortunately this accessory is not available in our store.
I saw things like these only on my tv screen, so the question might be a bit silly... The description reads about deep-sky objects... will moon and others from the solar system be seen? and is it possible to make pictures with it? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Levenhuk Skyline 130x900 EQ telescope is more suitable for observing galaxies, nebulae and other deep-sky objects, but you will also be able to observe the Moon and other Solar System planets. To make pictures you need digital camera for telescopes, for example http://www.levenhuk.com/products/levenhuk-t130ng-digital-camera/. Digital camera should be installed instead of an eyepiece, the view is transferred directly to your computer screen so you can take pictures and record videos. Other telescope digital cameras may be found here: http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories-telescope-cameras-all-items/
Will I be able to see geostationary orbit satellites? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Unfortunately you can't observe geostationary orbit satellites with Levenhuk Skyline 130x900 EQ telescope. They are too small and the distance is too long for an amateur telescope.
Hello there my dears! What awesome stuff do you have for me so I could take a look at galaxies nebulae and other cool things? Levenhuk Customer Service:
For observing galaxies and nebulae through the Levenhuk Skyline 130x900 EQ telescope we recommend you to use wide-angle eyepiece, for example http://www.levenhuk.com/products/eyepiece-levenhuk-superview-15/. You can find more wide-angle eyepieces here http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories-eyepieces-wide-angle-items/ and here http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories-ra-eyepieces-wide-angle-items/. Also consider using filters that increase contrast of highly distanced objects, for example Levenhuk Ra H-Beta 1.25'' Filter http://www.levenhuk.com/products/filter-levenhuk-ra-h-beta-1-25/. More filters like this may be found here: http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories-ra-filters-deep-sky-items/
Hello! My husband has a new hobby now - stargazing, he's an amateur. Please give me some advice on which model to choose so it would be appropriate for beginners but good at the same time. I've set my eyes on Levenhuk Skyline 130x900 EQ and Orion AstroView 90mm EQ. But maybe you can suggest something else? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Levenhuk Skyline 130x900 EQ is the best choice for first tries at deep-sky observations.
hi. I'm confused about which telescope to choose. Budget is around $700. I'm fond of the moon, the sun and solar system planets. It'll be nice to observe deep-sky objects too, but so they appear as structured images and not some cloudy spots when I know that the thing I see is galaxy, but I can't actually observe it. It'll be great if it's possible to complete the set with some accessories for astrophotography and auto guidance. Levenhuk Customer Service:
Unfortunately, we can't pick a model that meets all of your requirements. Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA Telescope is good for lunar and planetary observations: http://www.levenhuk.com/products/levenhuk_skymatic_135gt/ Levenhuk SkyMatic 127 GT MAK is for deep-sky objects: http://www.levenhuk.com/products/levenhuk_skymatic_127gt/
Hello, I was wondering if this has any issues with chromatic abberration? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Hello Connor, Thank you for interest in Levenhuk products! The main advantage of reflecting telescopes is complete absence of any chromatic aberrations. Is there any additional information you might need? Looking forward to your reply.
Hi! What's an operating temperature range? telescope's optics do not get damaged by frost? Thank you in advance. Levenhuk Customer Service:
Operational temperature range is from +86°F to -22°F. You can use it in winter, but before observations let it acclimate to the temperature for about 20 minutes.
I've bought this telescope. I'm so happy with it. Can you pls tell me what else do I need for astrophotography (T-ring, T-adapter). I've got Nikon 3100. thanks! Levenhuk Customer Service:
Thank you for your feedback. You need both a T-ring and a T-adapter. Unfortunately, we don't stock them at this time.
The Skyline 130 EQ . What is the aperture i inches . Thank you. Levenhuk Customer Service:
Hello P. Glenik, thank you for interest in Levenhuk products! The objective lens diameter (aperture) is 5.1 inches. Is there any additional information you might need? Looking forward to your reply.
900 mm focal length is achieved with lens included in the kit, right? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Yes, it's correct.
The images provided by reflecting telescopes are b/w, aren't they? Is it so for refracting telescopes? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Yes. For visual observations the images are black and white.
How clear will the images of the Moon and Mars be? Also I wonder if the mirror is long term, how long will it serve and does it require any special care? Levenhuk Customer Service:
For planetary observations refractors that are well suited include: http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes-design-refractor-items/.

which one has higher quality and is better Levenhuk Skyline 130x900 EQ or Levenhuk ra 200n dob? Thnx in advance. Levenhuk Customer Service:
According to its specifications Levenhuk Ra 200N Dob will be the preferred choice.
one more question: so we have 90 mm refractor and 130-150 mm reflector. Which one is able to show more details (on planets)? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Refractors that are best suited for planetary observations: http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes-design-refractor-items/
Is its mount steady enough? Does it allow observing in windy weather? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Yes, the mount is steady. You can use it in windy weather.
Hi! Can I observe atmospheric flows of Saturn? Levenhuk Customer Service:
You can observe, for instance, the cloud belts on Saturn.
hey! I need a reflector with aperture about 200 mm, with any mount (not AZ), without drive system and auto guidance. Willing to spend no more than $400. it should be qualitative with non-slimpsy mount. Give me some advice! Levenhuk Customer Service:
Take a note of the Levenhuk Ra 200N Dob Telescope: http://www.levenhuk.com/products/dob-levenhuk-ra-200n/
Hello! I wanna purchase this model. But I need to know what are visible sizes of planets, for instance Saturn and Jupiter? Don' they look like peas with the stripes and the ring? How can I get colourful images? Levenhuk Customer Service:
That depends on the eyepiece used. Saturn may appear the size of, say, your thumbnail at arm's length. This telescope provides images about that size. Color images are obtained by adding hundreds of pictures taken with the camera. This is done automatically by the software.
Good day! I've purchased Levenhuk Skyline 130x900EQ. On the first day everything was great. I pointed at desirable object and observed it with no problems. Then it became more difficult. When I point a telescope through the finder, I can't see anything through the eyepiece. I had to point looking directly through the eyepiece. Then I tried to adjust it, as it's written in the manual. Nothing came off. Explain please how to adjust it correctly so i could point through the finderscope and see the object through the eyepiece right away Levenhuk Customer Service:
You can align a finderscope using any object about 330 ft. away from you. For this you should adjust the finder so its crosshair agrees to the center of the image that you see through the eyepiece.
what's its primary mirror: parabolic or spherical? Levenhuk Customer Service:
The primary mirror of the Levenhuk Skyline 130x900 EQ Telescope is parabolic.
Hi. What's the length of this telescope's tube? Where is it made? Levenhuk Customer Service:
The length of the tube of the Levenhuk Skyline130x900 EQ Telescope is about 33,4 in. It's made in PRC.
Do I understand it right that EQ without drive system is not helpful at all during long time exposure astrophotography? Can I install drive system on the Levenhuk Skyline 130x900 EQ mount later on? Levenhuk Customer Service:
Yes. You are absolutely right. You can install a drive system later.
Hi. I'm interested in this model so I have some questions: 1. Is it worth trying to use the telescope for astrophotography (including Saturn, Jupiter, the Moon) through the use of Canon 450D? 2. Is it worse than Skymatic 135 GTA at observing planets and deep-sky objects? 3.Is it possible to distinguish galactic, nebulae and cluster structure or do i need more powerful telescope? thanx in adv. Levenhuk Customer Service:
1. You need a telescope with a drive system, such as the Levenhuk SkyMatic series. 2. No, Levenhuk Skyline 130x900 EQ and Skymatic 135 GTA will give you similar results when observing planets and deep-sky objects. 3. Yes, it's possible, starting with aperture of 130 mm you can do that.
Hello! You've recommended this model as a gift for my son's 9th birthday. Tell me please what else is worth purchasing in the set? 3x Barlow lens?45 degrees diagonal prism? Any filters for the Moon and the Sun observations? Will be grateful for quick respons. Levenhuk Customer Service:
We recommend this Barlow lens: http://www.levenhuk.com/products/acc_levenhuk_barlow_lens_a3x/. If you add a 10 mm eyepiece to it the resulting magnification will be 270x. Diagonal prisms are not used with reflecting telescopes. Also take note of these optical filters: http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories-filters-all-items/
The images are reversed by 120 degrees and not 180, can it be fixed? Answer: Specify which optical accessories you use? The ones that are included in the kit: 2x Barlow lens, 10 and 25 eyepieces. Levenhuk Customer Service:
An angle of the image depends on the eyepiece axis position relative to the horizon. The eyepiece axis should be parallel to the ground.
Why do you recommend different telescopes for planetary and deep-sky observations? Why is that? Isn't it possible to observe planets at high magnification? Levenhuk Customer Service:
It's tied to the optical design used in the telescope; i.e., refractors are more suitable for planetary observations while reflectors are perfect for deep-sky observations. You can find Levenhuk refractors here http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes-design-refractor-items/ and reflectors here: http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes-design-reflector-items/
Hi!! I wonder if this telescope provides higher practical power about 300. which lens can I reach it with? Is it 90x magnification with the lenses included in the kit, and is it 180x with Barlow lens? Am I right. If so, what do I need to purchase to get 150x and 300x magnifications? Levenhuk Customer Service:
We recommend you purchase an eyepiece with a focal length of 6 mm. For example, Levenhuk Plossl 6 mm Eyepiece: http://www.levenhuk.com/products/eyepiece-levenhuk-plossl-6mm/; stand alone, it gives you 150x magnification, with 2x Barlow lens - 300x.
good day!!!!! Is there any model in your range for the deep-sky observations, but only not reversed? Thank you for your help Levenhuk Customer Service:
Telescopes with Maksutov-Cassegrain optical design are suitable for it. You can choose one here: http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes-design-catadioptric-items/
hi!! What should I purchase for this telescope to get colourful images? How much is the astropography adapter? What device do I need for imaging? Is it available in the store? How much is for the whole thing? Thanks for your responsiveness!! Levenhuk Customer Service:
Getting colorful images is possible only by using the photo technique. You can connect any SLR camera to the telescope by using a T-ring.
Which one would be better: Levenhuk Skyline 130x900 EQ or Levenhuk Skyline 90x900 EQ?(I'm interested in image sharpness and maximum magnification). Levenhuk Customer Service:
Levenhuk Skyline 130x900 EQ is a preferable choice due to its larger objective lens diameter.
How clearly is Jupiter visible through this telescope? Is its spot visible too? What's the country of origin of this telescope? Is there any alternatives to this model? Thanks in advance Levenhuk Customer Service:
Refractors suited best for planetary observations: http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes-design-refractor-items/. Consider Levenhuk Skyline 90x900 EQ Telescope http://www.levenhuk.com/products/levenhuk_skyline_90_900eq/
Hi! can you please tell me what do I need to purchase additionally to get this telescope to its highest practical power? And what to get the most comfortable observations? Thnx Levenhuk Customer Service:
To achieve the highest practical power you need a 3x Barlow lens. további információk
